One in ten people worldwide have their lives permanently impaired by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This is a complex respiratory disease characterised by chronic airway inflammation and the resulting destruction of pulmonary tissue causing progressive shortness of breath in addition to symptoms like cough, wheeze, and fatigue.

We never let up in our pursuit of new discoveries in treatment and care – and we’ve demonstrated we are not afraid to take risks or fail in the trying.  Building on our extensive experience and expertise in biological treatments, we are investigating treatments that have the potential to target the underlying cause of the inflammatory process seen in COPD.

We will continue to explore and develop better routes to improving the lives of the people we serve.
